“I’m gonna blow it Brad, I just know it!” Drew said nervously shaking and sweating profusely. Brad looked at him and pursed his lips. He was uncharacteristically calm for the day. He shook his head. “Drew, you’re going to be fine. But you may need to corral the grand finale and give the groom something to be surprised about on the wedding night.” He smiled and laughed indicating that Drew still needed to zip his fly.
“AACK.” Drew said embarrassed and quickly turned to zip up. “This is what I’m talking about, I’m hopeless.” “Yeah, but he knows that already.” Brad said with a wide toothy grin. He went over to Drew and straightened his tie. “So who’s the girl in this arrangement?” Brad said earning and elbow to the solar plexus. “OWWW…it’s a legitimate question thing…..” He said in mock defense.
Brad turned away and smiled his familiar quirky half-smile. He did that all the time now. His mind danced ahead to the reception, the only free time he’d be able to see Ryan again and be close to him, apart from standing beside him as groomsmen. This was a respectful occasion so he couldn’t very well attack him in the coat closet although…he let that thought travel through his mind….Brad had to give himself a mental shake. “Well there maybe time during the wedding march.” He grinned again.
Turning back to Drew, he paused looking at the nervous comic twiddling with his set of  gold cufflinks from Greg. Brad watched as a beam of light flickered and shimmered on his hand before moving along the opposite wall. “What?” Drew asked, perplexed.
“Nothing.” Brad said shaking the thought from his head. He put an arm around Drew and steered him toward the door. “It’s time.”
“Wow, Greg, you look…” Ryan stopped at a loss for words staring wide eyed at the exquisitely sharp dressed man in the black tuxedo. He came over and brushed a few stray hairs and imaginary fluff that had fallen onto his shoulder and looked his long time friend meeting his eye behind him in the mirror.
Greg was fastening  his own solid gold cuff links that he and Drew had decided to give as an engagement gift, opting for that instead of rings. “Ryan…you’re in my light.”
Ryan smiled ruefully and patted Greg on the shoulder. He could see that his friend was nervous and the snarky was coming out even in the happiest moments of his life.
Greg turned and looked at Ryan. “You’re not so bad yourself,” he said appraising Ryan’s long tapered form in an equally flattering tux.
Ryan blushed and tried to look disapproving. “I don’t think your husband is going to like you flirting with the competition. But I do look damn fine, if I do say so myself.” Ryan strutted around the small room, intending on looking for his boutonniere, but more to flaunt his sex appeal.
Greg blurted out a squawk of disbelieving laughter. “Even on my own wedding day, it’s all about the “you”.”
“Natch…” Ryan said. He gave one final glance in the mirror, his mind not totally centered on him but on who was attending to Drew in the other room. So much had happened between them in the past couple of months that his every waking thought was centered on the hyper man-child who had pratfalled his way into Ryan’s heart. He smiled as the shimmer of desire caused another shiver to go through him. ‘Had to be love.’ He reasoned.
“Are you ready?” He turned to Greg and paused. Greg was standing in the middle of the room staring at a beam of light shining through the window landing on Ryan’s chest, throwing everything else in shadows. A cloud passed by, winking it out, but he had seen it nonetheless. Greg looked up a tear shining in his eye. Ryan went over to him and enveloped him in a strong hug. “I’m proud of you.” He said soothingly, looking serenely at the man before him. “Just don’t go all mush on me, ya know?”
Colin watched as a beam of light cascaded over the slender planes of his lover’s back before approaching him from behind and enveloping him in a warm backwards hug. If only to be able to capture a bit of Wayne’s light for his own. “Mmmm…Hi.” He said purring in Wayne’s ear.  Wayne closed his dark hands over Colin’s very pale ones and still marveled that the contrasts between them. “So beautiful.” He murmured mostly to himself.
“Yes, you are.” Colin smiled and turned the man in his arms around to gaze in his deep brown chocolate depths. “Happy?” He said dropping a kiss on his soft, velvety lips, savoring the sweetness of his taste. He sighed and slipped his head down to Wayne’s shoulder threatening to muss up his hair and tux, but not caring. He loved to share this closeness with Wayne.
“Very.” Wayne smiled brightly down at the top of his nearly bald head. He brushed his nose along side the fringe of hair and sighed contentedly. He of all was the most confused as to how everything turned out. Two months ago, he’d never dreamed of standing in the middle of anywhere, let alone his other friends’ wedding, holding onto his very best friend, feeling all the love and care that he wanted to express before but never had opportunity to. He still couldn’t believe how surreal and dreamlike it all was but he knew it wasn’t a dream and he didn’t need pinching.
“Maybe this could be us one day.” Colin said hopefully, nuzzling the dark skin at Wayne’s neck. He mouthed wet kisses onto the skin, becoming increasingly turned on at the prospect. Wayne purred deep in his throat.
“Oh Colin,” Wayne said pulling back from him and looking seriously into his eyes. The silently communicated the truth of the matter between them, no words were needed. Colin nodded and smiled, all dimples and a rosy red blush colored his cheeks. Wayne could hold back no longer and kissed him passionately. Colin pulled Wayne’s hips close to his own and longed desperately for a couch, chair anything, at the moment other than the cold hard floor which even now looked inviting. Wayne’s tongue slipped deftly into his mouth just as there came a tapping on the door. They both groaned and reluctantly pulled themselves apart. Resting their foreheads together, Wayne brought his hand up to trail along Colin’s cheek. “I love you.”
The wedding was being conducted as an outdoor ceremony. All friends and family were gathered, seated in white folding chairs and a long white carpet was leading up to a beautifully decorated gazebo, and a Justice of the Peace ready to officiate the proceedings. A four piece quartet consisting of a flautist, a violinist, a pianist, and a harpist, was to the left of the gazebo and beautiful music floated on the breeze. The sun had shown brightly all around, casting brilliant beams of light onto all the smiling faces.
The wedding march started up suddenly, and everyone turned to look behind them. Drew and Greg were standing about five paces apart from one another on opposite sides of the open field. They were both shyly staring at the ground or themselves, hearts racing, blood pumping, this was the performance of their lives, and there was not a trace of stage fright. The clasped hands and Greg could feel the warmth of Drew’s hand and it felt as if a bright light were searing them binding them together from the inside out. ‘One Hand.’
Ryan and Brad followed also coming from opposite sides. The both wore the same lopsided grins of someone who had a secret that only they shared between them. A slight adjusting of clothes, and smoothing of wrinkles the two approached each other and a light was showing in both of their eyes. Brad saw that Ryan’s boutonniere was slightly crooked where he wore it over his heart. He placed a hand there and felt the warmth and the steady beat and the light fused him there as well. ‘One Heart.’
Colin and Wayne looked at each other from across the field. Love radiated from each of their bodies so tangible that the short distance between them was too much. Colin whimpered as he looked at Wayne, whose eyes pleaded desperately to hurry this process along so that they could be standing close to one another again, sharing the same air the same space the same light. The finally drew close to one another and a sigh escaped each of them, and even though it was a light brushing of the shoulder, it was enough to share. ‘One Soul.’
