He could hear the rain fiercely rapping against the windows, so much so that he had barely heard the knock on his door. He wrapped his dressing-gown a little tighter around his waist to protect his night clothes, pulled the door open and was startled awake."Ryan?"Ryan looked back at him, his hair was almost black from being drenched with rain and his clothes were wet and heavy, but he seemed to barely notice."I want you back, Brad." he stated with determined eyes."W-what?""I want you back. I want us to be together again. I tried living without you, and I hate it. Come back to me." he looked at his hands, a sudden wave of sheepishness coming over him. "Please?""Ryan, we haven't dated since we were in our twenties..."-----Dumb Girls - Lucy WoodwardBrad strode directionlessly down the street away from Ryan's house. Away from Ryan's house. Away from Ryan. That was something Brad was never going to get used to...Too immature? Ryan hadn't complained about Brad's ability to keep in touch with his inner child before. No future? Brad was happy with his life, he didn't want it to change just yet.But the one that hurt, the one that made the anger cut through the numbness: too dumb. From the man who never finished high school. Brad laughed mirthlessly and continued walking. He was going to miss Ryan's insults...-----California Dreaming - Beach BoysBrad hated Washington in the winter. Especially when he'd just broken up with his boyfriend; everything seemed even colder and darker. When a hefty cough rose in his chest and his fingers started to go numb, be took refuge in a small church that he happened across. It was only marginally warmer, but it was enough. And it was a place to think. Think about himself and Ryan, and how they had come so, so close. Maybe he should go back to him, plead with him, beg, anything, Ryan would soften and let him stay. Maybe he should give Ryan some space, some time to think. Or maybe he should just get his car and head back to L.A. without another word.-----Pain - Three Days GraceThe back of Ryan's hand met Brad's cheek sharply. Brad winced. He forced his tongue to stay in his mouth, even though the blood on his lip was causing an unpleasant cold sensation. He inexplicably loved moments like this. No one could deny that the passion and romance had died out in Brad and Ryan's relationship a long time ago. Nowadays, the only physical contact they shared was filled with violence. But at least they had physical contact. And that was enough for Brad. His internal happiness may have been eaten away, but he could still feel, and that was what mattered.-----Dancing in the Moonlight - ToploaderRyan had never been a good dancer. It was one of the downsides of being supremely tall and lanky; he seemed to trip over himself everytime he tried to stay in time with the music. He did, however, love going dancing with Brad. Brad was only a marginally better dancer than Ryan (although he considered himself vastly superior, of course), but he enjoyed it. And when Ryan was with Brad, he enjoyed it, too. It didn't matter how much of an idiot he looked like, it didn't matter because Brad was there, and Brad didn't care, and Brad was all he was looking at."Let's finish this dance at home," Brad said, slipping his hand into Ryan's.-----Things I'll Never Say - Avril LavigneI love the way you laugh.I love the way you make me laugh.I love the way you can act like a child without caring.I love the way you can make a joke out of anything.I love the way you make me feel like there's no one more important in the world.I love the way you make my skin tingle when you accidentally brush against me.I love the way you push yourself to the limits.I love the way you can cheer me up just by smiling.I love the way you make me think I can do anything I want.I think I love you.I could never say these things to you. I could write it all down in a letter. I could never send it.-----Kiss Me - Sixpence None The RicherMy fingers are burning on the hot wood as I grip it to retain my balance on the rickety fence. You're lying in the green grass, your skin slowly but surely gaining a healthy tan."Is your back any better, yet?" I ask you, not meaning to sound impatient. You shake your head, so I poke you with my foot."You're just saying that because you know I don't like the heat.""Yup.""You're mean.""Yup."I chuckle. To others, you do sometimes seem like a grumpy bastard; but I know you better than that. Much better. I let nature do the talking for us for a while; I let the birds sing and the crickets chirrup and the breeze gently whistle through the leaves of the trees."Okay, Brad, let's go before you get cranky."I look down at you. You're sat up in the grass, putting that ridiculous straw hat back on your head, your skin now beautifully glowing. You look like a real country man, and it makes me smile. I hop down from the fence, lean down beside you and lock our lips firmly together. As soon as I feel you smile against me, I withdraw."Come on, then. I'm fucking hot."-----Round The Twist - Theme Tune"Brad.""Yeth?""Didn't your mother tell you not to pull faces?""Obviouthly not.""Stop it, it's freaking me out!""Hahaha!""I didn't realise how long your tongue was..."-----Faith - George MichaelBrad sat back in his chair and watched Ryan perform with amusement, as he always did. A smile was etched onto his face as Ryan mimed sitting down, and Brad was presented with a clear view of Ryan's ass. He was positive that Ryan did it on purpose. The electricity between them had been slowly building over the years until it was undeniable. He was less positive that Ryan was in it for more than just the fun of the chase. It was Brad's mission to eventually catch Ryan, just as soon as he could determine if Ryan wanted to be caught. It took all of Brad's willpower to put it out of his mind and merely raise an eyebrow when Ryan glanced over at him at the end of the game.-----That's Life - Bif NakedIt was the little things Ryan loved the most. The way Brad would put salted popcorn and buttered popcorn in the same bowl, and then complain when he got a kernel with both salt and butter on it. The way Brad meticulously tied his laces in a way where the bows on his shoes were symmetrical. The way Brad shamelessly talked in baby talk to his dog. These were the things that anyone would find irritating, but Ryan found them endearing. Brad wasn't the most perfect guy in the world and he knew it. That's what made him perfect. That's why Ryan loved him..x.Sess.x.
